Tryout Information
*Tryouts are usually within the first week of school in the Fall.
*There are two nights involved in tryouts.
*The first night, the two captains will teach a small part of a dance that we will be doing for the year. This night is usually two hours long, but if you want to leave earlier, that's fine. We will run the dance with you until you are comfortable.
*The second night, (try-outs) we will review the dance a few times, and then we will assign you a number. Usually we audition you in groups of two or three. When we call you in, you will perform the dance for us once or twice, or more if we would like to see it again. After that, we will ask to see your best toe-touch, single pirouette, and splits. *These are not requirements for you to be able to do these, it just helps us to understand where your abilities are. At the end of your try-out, we will ask you a few questions about yourself, dance experience, etc. This part isn't scary! We just want to get to know you better. After everyone has auditioned, the coach and the two captains will deliberate who has made the team. We will announce it and then have a quick meeting about practice and getting the year started!
* If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us! :)
